To get the best burn from your Enchanted Wicks candle, let it get a full melt pool (the melted wax needs to get to the edges of the glass) before extinguishing; this will avoid it tunnelling which is a common issue with any candle if extinguished too soon. Soy wax has memory, which means that if your candle doesn't burn to the edges on the first burn, it will begin to tunnel and will only burn as far as it did the first time. We recommend burning up to 4 hours on the initial burn (Do NOT leave any candle burning for longer than 4 hours at a time) Avoid placing your candle in a draughty area whilst lit. This will cause the flame flicker, meaning the wick will absorb the wax at a faster rate, which will result in an uneven burn and it won’t burn for as long as its potential. Before re-lighting your Enchanted Wicks candle, ensure the candle wax is free from dust and debris.

To keep your candle free of debris, be sure to cut the previously burned wick off before relighting. (Click here to view our candle care accessories) This will help your candle burn more smoothly and will stop it from flaring.
Always light your candle while it is on a flat surface, never turn the candle upside down to light. Never pick up or move the candle whilst it is lit. When your candle has burned down with about 5mm of wax left, this is the time to clean the jar out, as burning for any longer may become hazardous as the bottom of the glass may get too hot. As soy wax is water-soluble the wax can now scooped out with a spoon or kitchen roll and the vessel can be washed out with warm soapy water and can either be recycled or reused! Please always use responsibly and keep out of reach of children and pets and DO NOT leave candle to burn unattended. Thank you for reading! Let us know if these tips helped!
